Allison & Ron's Schoharie, NY Engagement Session

Jennifer & Harry's Troy, NY Wedding

Nicole & Dom's Albany, NY Wedding

When Nicole & Dom came to me last year and asked me to photograph their wedding day, I couldn't wait for the day to come! Knowing Dom & Nicole for some time now, this wedding was a special one for me to have had a part in. I've watched these two grow from friends, to eventually a couple, and now husband and wife.

June 15th, 2013 was made for a wedding! The sun was out the entire day and the cool breeze kept it comfortable. The day started at Nicole's parents' house where the girls got ready with the company of Sarah Gogola on make up, and the ladies from Bellezza Salon for hair. The girls looked amazing! Their look completed with their gorgeous bouquets from Fleurtacious Designs. I just love peonies and was super excited that's what Nicole went with!  I immediately started with those detail shots when I arrived and loved everything Nicole had incorporated for the look she was going for. She had told me she was going with a bling theme, and she wasn't kidding! Her diamonds from Northeastern Jewelers were the perfect touch to this beautiful bride. She was sparkling inside and out! I met up with Dom and his groomsmen at St. Mary of the Angels Chapel on the Siena College campus. Dom was as calm as they come. Knowing the guys in the wedding party already, I knew it was going to be a fun bunch but still tackled those formal shots right away. After the ceremony, we went off location to downtown Albany to complete our bridal party and bride & groom portraits. It worked perfectly being so close to the reception venue, 11 North Pearl. The space was beautiful and the night was full of non-stop music provided by Cool Cat Entertainment. Vinny Liotta did his thing, making sure people were up, dancing, and having an awesome time!

Nicole & Dom, thank you for the privilege of capturing your special day! I wish you both nothing but the best as you begin your life journey together!

Welcome Baby Colton!

The Joyce family welcomes the newest addition to their family, baby Colton!! Colton was just 8 days new when Jennifer & Andrew had me over to shoot their newborn session. Talk about such a special time in their lives! I always recommend shooting newborn sessions within the first 2 weeks from when the baby is born. This is when babies are considered to be in their sleepy stage and works great to get those adorable images! Colton had other ideas. I think he was awake more than he was asleep! But he did awesome! Big brother Diego made sure he didn't miss any of it either :)

Jennifer kept me posted throughout the last stretch of her pregnancy so we could come up with a day to shoot once he was here. When I received the last message, she told me she wanted to do it sooner than later since Colton wasn't very little and didn't want him to grow much more before they had photos taken. She wasn't kidding! Colton weighed 10lbs 4oz when he was born! Wow! Even him being a bigger baby, he still felt like a peanut holding him. I had my daughter 5 months ago, and I already forgot how small she use to be! Jennifer & Andrew now have photos to remember this time forever!

A special thanks to the Joyce Family as they welcomed me into their home to capture these special moments for them! Cherish this time together as you watch your precious baby boy grow!

Cybil & Eric's Colonie, NY Engagement Session

After meeting Cybil & Eric to go over details about their wedding day, it was time to shoot their engagement session! Cybil & Eric saw photos on my facebook page, www.facebook.com/cmackenziephotography, of a previous session I shot at The Crossings in Colonie and knew that was the location for them! I'm always looking for new locations, and came up with a beautiful off location to add to the mix for these two! After several messages back and forth and changes to original plans, we came up with a date and went with it. While it's a constant guessing game when it comes to the weather, we couldn't have chosen a better night to shoot! You know, those summer nights when it's still warm out, the sun sets a yellow glow on everything around you, and an AMAZING sunset?? Yeah, that's the night we had and the reason why I LOVE shooting engagement sessions in the evening! Some bumps in the road along the way, but after everything was all said and done, sometimes plan B turns out even better than plan A!

Cybil & Eric were awesome in front of the camera! I try to make my couples feel as comfortable as possible during their sessions. It's not everyday couples play "model" with a camera in front of them. These two definitely rocked it! Lot's of laughs and a great time! I'm super excited to be shooting them again on their wedding day!

Thanks again you two! See you in March!
